Topic: R-pod Width and Tall Person Sleeping Posted: 01 Mar 2015 at 6:51am |
I'm 6' 4" and wondering if an R-pod will work for me and the wife. I can sleep diagonally but then where does she sleep? Any tall R-pod owners out there? Comments, solutions?

Pillows take up space too. Unless you like to sleep with your knees bent, you might want to look at a full width camper.

I am 6'3" and "make it work". I love my RPod so much that I am willing to sacrifice a "little" diagonal sleeping. I probably spend 90% of my sleeping time curled up on my side, so it is a non issue in that situation. In my honest opinion, all the benefits of an RPod over a "larger" rv make up for the small inconvenience.

I'm 6'2", and while the bed and shower are a bit tight for me, the r-pod is still my trailer of choice. If I wanted a bigger bed and bathroom, I would have gotten a bigger trailer. But I find the benefits of the r-pod outweigh the minor inconveniences of being a tall person in an r-pod.

We had the 171 model and length of bed was not a problem my wife and I are only 5' 9". But crawling over one another to exit bed was a problem. After about three years I decided to lower dinette table and sleep there and let my wife have the rear queen bed. That worked out great for both of us for the last two years we owned our r-pod.

I'm 6'4" and have spent the last three weekends camping with our 178. I agree with making it work, but really enjoyed the trailer. If I only used things that were designed for my height I would still be waiting. I say enjoy your trailer.

I am 6'4" and a large guy. I spent a lot of time shopping for a camper and I now need a new TV to pull the RPod first.
At 6'4" I fill the space sleeping and my head and feet both touch in the 179 model main bed. As I am a side sleeper and I can curl up a little I found this to be a non issue. But I know I would never sprawl out on the bed, well at least not when the wife is there.
Best bet is to go for a ride and go see them. Bring a book and a pillow and lay in the bed. You have to see if YOU are comfortable.

I definitely agree. Dealership should have no problem with it. Stretch out and see what it feels like!

We have a 179. I cannot sleep in the bed at the same time as the wife because at 6'-2", there is no room. I sleep on the dinette cushion and am quite comfortable.
