Had a great time with the Canvas Campers group at the winter get-together, and they have a big blowout in March... so we'll be heading up to French Creek in March.  Would be great if we could get some pods representin'!

Only a few electric sites are left since their members book everything early, so book now if you are interested.

We will have at least 1 cord of firewood delivered for a big fire all weekend long, two 40 cup coffee pots going in the morning and a "Soup & Stew" pot luck at 6pm on Saturday.  Lots of Children of various ages so bring your kids if you want, they'll have fun (don't worry, they are under control if you aren't into the whole kids running around screaming in a campground).

There are 2 lakes, lots of hiking trails, frisbee golf, geocaching, playgrounds, mountain biking, and Hopewell Furnace is right next door which is an interesting historical site.

Below is the link to our thread if you want to check out how big this get together is.

This trip is 3 weeks away.  Any R-podders going to join us other than Doug?

I just mentioned to my wife today that I need to get a new battery and adjust my hitch before this trip.  Hope we get a few pods!

Geocaching - using multimillion dollar government satellites to find tupperware in the woods.
Any R-podders into geocaching?  One of the things CanvasCampers have done as a group is launch 2 geocaches at French Creek. We just launched our 2nd one in time for our big March Rally http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5NQ3A_between-the-naked-trees-cg-series?guid=d88c371a-3d0b-4e2e-943f-823aed638759  We are also talking about putting a few temporary cache's near the campground just for this weekend for some fun.

Pulled my camper out of its storage spot and spent a few hours getting it ready for this weekend's trip.  The biggie was adjusting the hitch (again).  Added a new battery (again - the one I bought last year went with my pod when it sold in January).  Checked tire pressure and lug nut torque.  Throw some clothes and food in and we'll be gone.

I didn't plan this very well. At least for this winter.

Breaking up ice and snow in front of and around pod today while it's warm (60) and hoping it gets cold enough for ground to freeze so I can move pod to driveway in a day or two. Need to get away soon! Any idea how far a 4Runner can sink in mud??

Yes, those are wild ponies dining on grass while dumping tanks!

I can tell you my 'burban sunk in fairly well when I crossed my side yard, but luckily it is still frozen solid about 3 inches down.
