Well you are well on your way to advanced publishing. Understanding that re-sizing a photo has two caveats: 1) You can re-size a photo without changing the resolution; this is done to make prints of the size intended. 2) You can re-size a photo to reduce its "digital size" (reduce resolution) and make it more suitable for posting on the internet...it's all about managing resources AKA...Storage and/or Bandwidth, that is, the pipeline used to store and post said image.
High resolution photos are necessary for making good quality prints, however, digitally displayed photos require much less resolution and therefore, is a waste of resources to Email, or Post, or Store GIGANTIC files when using digital forms. You are on the way to mastering the tools of your particular form. Your on the right track...

My saga continues. I downloaded the app referred to in the article and it works.... mostly. It compresses the file size, but just not quite enough to upload. I emailed the developer and their suggestion was to reduce the amount of pixels first and then run the app. Geez. Now to go and figure out how to do that ...

No worries. Just added it in case someone has difficulties with copy-n-paste. Hoped you wouldn't mind.

Hmm, this thread got me to wondering if an Android resizer might be available. So I'm testing! Don't mean to waste your time. This one is called Photo Resizer, on Play Store. Edit: This post submitted from my HTC (Android) phone. I normally use my iPad for text posts, but it stinks for uploading photos.

Sometimes I will add photos to Email and let the editor prep and compress them for sending. After it loads the photos to be sent I just pull them off and put them into a folder on my desktop and then delete the Email that was never intended to go anywhere. Yes, clearly use and abuse of the Email editor! But it works!

I have emailed my photos to myself and edited them on the iMac. I like to post while we are traveling as well. (The iMac doesn't travel well) And sometimes I just want to be lazy if it's just a photo for record (not a landscape, etc). I will take another look at Picasa. Maybe I can do it thru the website instead of the app. I do know how to edit photos to upload and email easily :) ... https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/119235407@N08/sets/72157644778493954/ |

I don't know diddly squat about the iPhone, but I do a lot of photo editing and picasa, once you learn to navigate it, makes it real easy. Is it possible to Email your iPhone photos to a Gmail Account and then edit them from there? Just thinking outside the box... I have friends that send be GIGANTIC 2-5 gig photos all the time from their I phones, so I guess they don't get it either.
