We bought a new R-Pod 2015 178 in June 2014 and took 7 trips in it.  One thing I hated was the lack of storage. No place for clothes, had to take a suitcase.  Also no place for food.  Put it in a plastic bin under the bed. No counter space in kitchen either.
My husband and I went to a RV show in September 2014 and they had a 178 and 179 next to each other.
We were blown away by the cupboard space, countertop, The pantry and wardrobe.  All of which the 178 does not have.  Also much more room to crawl over my hubby at night without waking him.  We are retired and plan to travel a lot so we traded up to the 179! We ate about $6,000.  We are new RV'ers and did not think of all that when we bought it.  We have taken 2 trips in the 179, the last was a 2 week trip to Tahoe from Seattle and loved ever minute of it.  No suitcases and plenty of room for food and extra cupboard space.

Congratulations on your upgrade. Yes, we have a 178 and hated having to dig for clothes out of a suite case so we did the popular mod with a shelf over the bed Windows. The shelf is big enough to hold 4 large baskets for clothes and it looks factory installed. We hate the table so we are currently working on a mod to fix that. We have spent some $$$ on mods with more to come.

Well, this one isn't mine, but provided the inspiration.

We like this idea of the shelf, even for the 179.
Would you mind telling how you installed it?
Very nice idea. Thanks for sharing.
