Hi,

My name is Geoff, I'm in Connecticut. We're about to buy a 179 from a large dealer in the midwest. Savings are pretty substantial. I've heard talk about potential issues with the axle on the 179, and the R-dome having fitment issues. Does anyone here think those are something to worry about?

Thanks,
Geoff

We have a 179 and love it! The R-dome fits fine and the axles are fine , just don't overload it.
We are presently finish up a month stay at Cape Hatteras in our pod.
I have nothing bad to say about the 179

Love our 179!!  Been on two trips with no problems. Agree with Leo B. Don't overload is good rule for any liteRV.

Can't comment on the 179, but we're also in CT and bought from Couch. We got great service, warranty included, from Long View in South Windsor. No questions or hassles. Quick service. None of the garbage that the local dealer was saying would come way happened.

That's really good news! Our present camper, a Serro Scotty, gets picked up on the 12th, and we're putting down a deposit after that. We'll be driving out to pick up ours up hopefully before Thanksgiving.

Congratulations!  Exciting times ahead!  If you can work it out time-wise, staying an extra day near or at the dealer to test everything might not be a bad idea.  Sure paid off for us.

Good luck!

I ditto "Luv2Q" We were on our first trip and could not get hot water to heat up. HWH was running but at tap it was lukewarm at best. Found that the Hot Water tank bypass value was open allowing cold to mix with hot when it exited the tank. Dealer did not check this. it was a simple fix. Just turned the bypass value to off. :)

Also had a heating problem...because there is a small hidden on/off switch located in the heater's outside compartment, cold showers in the mountains are invigorating!Censored
