We love our 179,  too!! Got it in May, but have only used twice, due toa couple issues...probably user error. But, I highly recommend the axle risers. One of the issues we corrected was replacing the back scissors jacks with ones that flatten against the frame. No more dragging at speed bumps.
But so happy with all the storage!

The Tacoma is a home run. I installed a hitch on my 2006, and I towed my Scotty Hilander, roughly the same weight, without a problem. Best truck I've ever had.

If I may jump in here:  We bought our 171 from Couch's on 9/30 and .. nope.  At least not in our case. Maybe I'm not the best negotiator but my impression was/is that they know their price beats the pants off just about everyone else so they really don't need to sweeten their deal. And they do a pretty high level of volume so, if you don't buy, someone else will.  Nevertheless, they were pleasant enough to deal with and their follow-up has been good, too.  We found a damaged burner grate a few weeks after the sale, sent them some pix, and they replaced it right away.

Biggest recommendation I can make: if you're driving any real distance to pick up your pod, plan on overnighting there at their lot so you can play with everything.  (They provided us with water & electricity.)  We found a bad entertainment center, bad connector board to the television and a water leak at the city water port.  Their techs fixed everything first thing next morning.  I would not have enjoyed discovering these things after getting back to TX.

Hope this helps ..

None, only if you got a lower quote. We shopped this trailer endlessly. I found their price impossible to beat.

Update - placed our deposit with couch today for a new 179 with the Pebble interior. Hoping to drive from Connecticut to Ohio the first week in December. We're pumped!

Thanks for all the info,
Geoff
