I was reading the Dometic manual and it says that they have an optional internal battery compartment for the frig when running on gas..I can not seem to find anything on line.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

Yes they do have that.  Not sure of its availability in the US as the fridge is imported. Other accessories for it aren't available here either.

I've seen some of the models with that panel, but what I've seen inside them is that they aren't actually hooked up.

On those that have it, it's just a spot for some batteries with no connectors or control panel in that spot.  It's almost appeared as if on some models they ran out of the front panels for the regular fridge and just used the one with the batteries in it's place.

Been a while since someone accidentally opened that panel and this odd discussion has some up.

They are on models in Europe, where 12v systems on caravans are not as prevalent as they are here. (yet) Many TT's there (caravans) only have propane. No black or gray tanks either. Hand pumped faucets.. Camping, or "caravaning" is done very differently there vs here.
