When I got my new 178 home I
Did a more thorough inspection and noticed that 1) there is already signs of rust on some of the frame welds visible on the hitch, and welds holding the gas tank look like a person new to the trade did them. Very "slaggy" with pieces of welding wire poking out; and the factory didn't grind these down just painted them.

Is this typical of FR quality? Dealer says FR doesn't consider it a defect and won't cover fixing them. Seems like someone didn't take much pride in their work that day.

From what I can tell on my new 179 they don't take much pride in their work ANY day.

I will say FR's quality of workmanship and design is very poor.
The really sad part is that they are above average from what I've seen.

I am guessing that FR does not do much welding on site. I could be wrong as I have never been to their Factory but most manufacturers today would outsource all of the parts The pictures of the plants I have seen are just assembly plants.

Yes- the frame is actually sourced from Lippert.
Poor quality seems to be a hallmark of the industry.
I'm an amateur welder, not a pro by any means but I can do better than Lippert's welders didConfused
