Posted my pics over in the TV discussion thread just for your reference if you keep working with Jensen.

We have the 176T model with the pop out tent.  The fiberglass around one of the hatch door handle was cracking.  The dealer called it Filon damage.  Anyway, the problem was diagnosed along with other defects before the warranty ran out.  We had some of the minor work done right away, but the fiberglass repair was going to cost close to $600 so we held off until we could get a response from Forest River.

I emailed the invoice to Forest River and asked about the Filon repair work.  It took the rep some time to respond and when she did she admitted to dropping the ball on it and said she would cover the work already done.  No mention of the filon repairs though.  I sent another email (because they don't return calls and a paper trail is always good) and never got a response on the Filon issue.

We went ahead with the work, but because of the delay (their lack of response)  and the fact we had to wait for some parts etc, the actual work was done after the warranty expired.

Now the rep (different but no better) we are dealing with is saying the work isn't covered.  I'm not quite sure where to take it now.  I'll probably start with the Better Business Bureau and go from there.

Was the work done by an authorized FR dealer or repair center?    If not I think you are wasting time trying to get it reimbursed.  Not saying that is right but probably is reality.

When we finally got serious about buying an R-pod we went on a rainy day, not intentionally but glad we did.  We walked through about 8 of them and one of them was leaking water from the A/C all over the kitchen counter and floor.  Maybe that is what happened with yours.  If it were me I would be hosing the pod down thoroughly and for a long time to find the leak or make sure it's not leaking.

The repair was done by a dealership that handles RPods. If the defect is identified prior to the warranty running out I don't see why it shouldn't be covered.

I seem to recall there being an organization out there that helped resolve warranty complaints for RV owners. I was hoping someone would know about them as I can't remember where I saw the ad.

lbrhino, Trailer Life magazine seems to have quite a bit of success dealing with owner vs manufacturer issues.  They request, after you have exhausted all other resources, send a typed letter with copies of appropriate bills and correspondence, as well as a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

Good luck!

Unfortunately, sometimes you have to contact Forest River yourself if
the dealer is not getting the problem taken care of.

Hi All, I am also having trouble getting a real response from FR about an exterior panel separation issue that just happened to to my 2012 178.   They respond to my emails with comments like the supervisor may be back in a few days (apparently hasn't been back since or is maybe too busy to respond, etc.) Also, this camper was purchased used in 2015 in Edmonton, Alberta.  I have the buyers original paperwork but the selling dealer is a 4 hour one way drive away from me so I am trying to find information of how to do the repair myself and also maybe find out what may have caused the damage in the first place so I can prevent it from happening again.

We love the Rpod mostly but are not having the same trouble free experience many others seem to enjoy.  so far the following problems have occurred in two years:  Microwave broke (no longer heats food), trip holding fridge and microwave in place keeps pulling away (nails pulling out), Frig stopped working on propane (still works on batt and shore power)

Thanks for your help and suggestions
