If there is anyone with a Dometic  Penguin 2 AC built before May of 2012, there is a soft grommet kit available covered under warranty if your AC is still under the two year warranty. The early models have excessive noise and vibration and Dometic came up with a change in May of 2012 adding the soft grommet. I have read it makes a very noticeable difference. We are bringing our camper into Camping World to have the grommet kit installed hopefully we will be able to tell the difference.

They don't give you the exact height, so it could be 9 7/8", I just took mine out it is 10" high.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

My 2014 179 has the Penguin II.

One thing that concerns me is the large cooling openings in the base.   Where I am the Carolina Wrens will be building nests in there every spring...
I'll probably have to hardware cloth those openings...

They have built nests in my truck step bumper, my winch stand on my boat trailer, and even in the garage when I left the door open all day...they are amazingly busy workers.

Budward you have said what has been on my mind and that is when it goes to Camping World and they remove the cover they are going to find a Carolina Wren's nest. They are clever birds in finding all kinds of places to build their nests.
