Sorry headcold. "Head Unit" is standard jargon for the stereo unit installed in cars (and RVs). The Jensen unit pictured came with my 178.

I thought of another reason you won't want to keep the voltmeter on all the time - the blue glow at night will fill the pod.  We cover the display on the tv/dvd player for that reason.
 
 
I found the blue glow a bit much and didn't like the Jensen unit using precious amp/hours (when dry camping), as I don't use it very often anyway.  So, I found the power lead to the unit and installed a simple toggle switch inside of the cabinet next to the Jensen.  I just turn the unit on when I want to watch a DVD.
 
The volt meter looks GREAT!  No doubt it will serve you well.
