yes.. it fits the G models, and 178.. no one knows on the 179, since it has such a different rear profile.

Here is the link from Amazon for the cover for the 2014 R-178. Measurement is from the rear to the hitch ball so the 20 ft. is the only one that will fit.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZLR754/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Cost is $144 - returning the too small cover today. Model 3 cover won't arrive until mid January but at least it's coming! We live close to a major metropolitan area and find the cover really helps keep our RV's clean.

Dave W and I got our trailers at same place and they don't cover the trailers in the lots, or in their winter storage area. That being said, mine is hibernating in a hoop barn. But if there comes a time that it isn't available I don't think I'm going to cover our pod. Traveling around you see LOTS of trailers not covered up here north of 49.

Thanks everyone for your input!
That's what I like about this forum, lots of experienced rpod travellers to help us newbies.
I think we'll see how you make out with yours fwunder before we proceed, but the 20' probably will be the right size
since the total trailer, hitch etc. is used.

Curiosity got the better of me so I went out and measured our 178.

By my calculation, the body is 17 feet long. The rear spare wheel and bar adds another foot. That should make the hitch with battery and propane tank 2 feet long (mine seemed to be closer to 3 feet).

From the PDF link above (fine print near bottom):

"*Fit dimensions include trailer and hitch, but product not designed to cover hitch."

I'm guessing that would indicate new part #80-200-161001-00 would be correct for 178.

Unless a 178 is shorter than a 181g.  And to my knowledge it's not, and I just measured my 181g just yesterday it's 20' "ish" like stated in the brochures.

I've never taken a measuring tape to a 178 though, but they are supposed to be the same as the 18xg series.

I've never covered mine.  I don't much see the point in it, but I don't exactly have lots of ice or hard snow here either.

We have a 178 and are probably going to look at the 18 plus size.

While our friend kymooses is correct that the official size of our trailer is 20' this includes the tongue, propane tanks and batteries.  So the 20 foot option probably won't work.

However, it is definately not going to fit the 16' 6" inch option.

(Our dealer actually doesn't cover their R-Pods even in our Canadian winter, so the idea of a cover may not be as good as we think)

If you can wait a few weeks, I may be able to tell you for certain. I ordered Part #80-200-161001-00 from the Amazon link above and just received email that it will be delivered between 01/06/14 and 01/11/14.
