Just back from 3 very nice days at Suwannee River SP.  The site we were lucky enough to reserve,
(Site #20, if you care to make note), was extremely RP friendly.  Plenty of room for the R-Dome with
the fire ring about 5 paces from the front of the 'Dome.  Lovely to sit inside and watch the camp fire in
the early evening darkness.

Not that we don't enjoy meeting our neighbors, but the buffers for this particular site made for great
privacy when desired.  A natural swale (almost like a retention pond) was on one side, and a wooded
plot on the other.  Since our male spaniel is "protective" at times, the other pets in the area did not tend
to set him off.  That is a good thing....

The site had water and both 30 and 50 amp service, as expected, but this was our first time of having
a sewer hook-up.  Convenient, I guess, but the dump station routine is no problem for me either.

The park is about 10 miles west of Live Oak, Florida, which is the closest resource for shopping, (a Super
WalMart), and fuel.  Again, no problem, but the travel time encourages self-sufficiency in your pre-trip
preparations.  Ice and fire wood are available at the Ranger Station.

The bath house is new, clean and convenient.

The Suwannee River winds right through the park a short stroll from the campsites, on the other side of a
beautifully groomed meadow with picnic shelters and restrooms available for day use visitors. Kayakers
and canoers enjoy both the Suwannee and the Santa Fe rivers which converge nearby.

In all, another example of the fine State Park System that we enjoy in Florida.  Visitors welcome!

We camped there about 10 years ago.  It was nice then, and sounds even better now.
