It kills my knees to get up from the toilet in my 171...any suggestions on how to mount (and what kind to get) a grab bar on the door, or wall to the left, or wall in front of the toilet, directly under the hand-held shower bracket?

There are many grab bars to chose from and there are studs in the bath walls to mount them to. I may have seen ways to raise the toilet seat but not sure where perhaps is was camping world. I understand your pain, I too have sore knees. I placed grab handles at the door way to enter and exit the trailer easier.   David

I own a Medical Equipment Company. The trend is the "suction" type mounts. The bath area is one of the most dangerous places. This might work!

Suction cup ones will not stick securely to the textured wall paneling of the Pod shower.

We figured that....REALLY need info on how to bolt it on...what to do with the screws when they come out the other side, into the hallway across from the refrigerator? Can we just screw/bolt it on the wall....or would a block of wood on the outside wall provide enough support?

I think you could find a wood stud in the bathroom wall to secure wood screws that would be strong enough for a handle. That may depend on your weight if you are a heavy person perhaps over 300 lbs. wood screws may not be strong enough. For a grab handle at the doorway of our trailer we secured it with wood screws into wood in the middle of the bath wall, I did not place any fasteners through the wall.  David

I agree with David - the (interior) bathroom walls are wood studs.  Just screw into them.  I'd probably choose to mount a grab bar a couple inches below the shower taps.

I put a grab bar inside beside the door and a short towel bar in the bathroom to hang on to.
