Kinda Newbie - Event Date: 17 Aug 2013

   Hi: We are not new to Rving as we have had a's b' c' and TT's iin the past. At one time even had an R Pod. Well we are both retired and are downsizing our home so we want to get back into travel with an RV and what better unit than an R -Pod.
We have narrowed it to a 182G or 178...leaning heavily towards the 182G because I (John) have some back and knee issues and we would use the back for a lot of storage items to save bending over a lot (Kris also has a slight back issue). Any COMMENTS pro or con would be appreciated.

Also we will be towing with a 2014 BMW X6 x Drive 35i rated at max towing of 6,000lbs & tongue wt of 600lbs. We will be splitting our driving 60/40 with 40% highway/interstate and 60% rural roads. With that in mind any recommendation for a needed weight distribution hitch or a combo weight distribution / sway hitch like the Equal-i-zer, which I believe does both. When we had an R Pod several years ago we only had the one arm sawy control but all driving was on rural roads at 45mph and we did not experience any problems. But given highway speeds and trucks etc not sure how it would have handled. 60mph would be max speed.

Again look forward to this great forum and beginning our search for a dealer that has a 182G in stock

	Honestly I'd say that it would be a hard choice between either 18xg model or a 178 for me if I had it to do over now. Which Pod did you own previously? I will say as being a garage model owner it is amazing for storage and is a lot of fun. It's rather convenient to have a lot of things you need when setting up camp all in one easy to access arm level place. We ourselves have and use the E2 equalizer setup and like that very much. I guess uhm "welcome back to podding" is in order in this scenario. Good luck on your search and let us know what you find.

	HI: Thanks for the response. We had the 182G before but Kris wanted to look the other models. But in the end we will go with the 182G for the reasons you stated and our past experience with the "garage" and ease of access. Glad you had good experience with the Equilizer. We will also try the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Control as it will eliminate cutting wires on the BMW which will void the warranty unless you use a special controller from BMW and have them install it $$$$$$$$$$$. We already had BMW use their Hitch and wiring package and reprogramming for the connections. PS what dealer did you get yours from? We are in search of a dealer that has the 182g in stock? 	We bought ours locally, a place called Right Stop RV. They had a 181g in stock, we saw it and knew we had to have it. Been nothing but happy Podding every since!

	What is your time frame, and how far are you willing to travel to pick it up? They are right on the cusp of model changeover, and I think waiting just a bit might be nice.. and, there is one dealer that almost always has at least one of every floorplan in stock.. This dealer reportedly sells a pod every day.

	Right now we will most likely wait till January "14...hoping our house will sell to downsize if not we will get the RPod then even if house does not sell. When do they change the year model...as I understand it the 2014's are our now. Thanks John

	There is a difference between "model year" changeover and "model" changeover.. they happen at two different times of the year.. don't ask me why.. I just know it to be true.
