Our dealer told us to keep the A/C on high or auto settings. They said that the low setting would eventually cause the system to freeze.  Our system works pretty hard down here in hot and humid Florida.

Not sure I've ever heard that one before.  All I can say is that I've run our fan on the low setting every night that we've used the AC for 3 years now, never had any issue.  Kentucky is a nasty wet humid hot mess.
