Topic: Battery getting stolen Posted: 31 Jul 2013 at 6:44pm |
We have a 2012 175.
I'm so tired of having my battery stolen.
How do you lock your battery?
I've been thinking of installing a computer fan in the front storage compartment rear wall so that it exhausts into the refrigerator grill to the outside and then moving my battery to the front storage compartment.

I assume that this is happening when your not using the Pod. You could put it inside the camper when not in use. That shouldn't hurt anything. I did that for a while.

I use a cable lock made by Master Lock. Weatherproof, key lockable, easy to use, 6' long. Wrap it around the battery and battery frame, cinch it up and lock it ... ain't going nowhere. Here's link to the type I got:

I can't imagine the frustration to have it stolen once let alone more than once.

I always disconnect my battery when I park our pod in our storage facility, just to keep the battery from discharging. This said, it is easy to place the battery inside the pod, as some one already suggested, since the battery is already disconnected.

This topic is depressing. I hadn't even considered worrying about having our battery ripped off. Did they rip off your spare tire, too?
