Smile My pre-owned 2012 177, bought from a private seller, did not come with a convection microwave oven.  Where would be a good place and what brand would be best.  I have googled microwave convection oven for rv, but nothing comes up.  In the brochure, that is what is pictured.  What would the approximate cost of one be?  There are no r-pod dealers close to us, or I would take it there.

Hi ,
We have the convection microwave oven in our 2010 Rpod 171 it is a Sunbeam model SB-22200 according to our paperwork that came with it. Works great, we use it a lot.

The older rpods came with a Sylvania but I think they have discontinued making them. High point I have read is not very reliable. I remember one form member used the one that they had in there house and moved it back and forth when they went camping. If you use a microwave not made for RV use I think you would need to cushion some how when you are traveling. The electronics in a RV microwaves are built to withstand a lot of vibration.      David

I see that Camping World has microwave/convection oven made for RVs which includes a trim kit currently on sale (link).

I haven't used this specific unit, but I've been happy with other Dometic appliances.  Also, Camping World has been good with me in the past about swapping defective stuff.

You might want to check the inside dimensions of the space your going to put the microwave.  I did a lot of research before buying our 171 last year.  The space allocated for a microwave/convection oven is too small for all the ones that I found.  Good luck.  Safe travels.

I looked at the sale ad for this a few days ago.  I, too, was concerned about the size.  Look at the installation manual link in the ad, and it seems as though the existing opening has to match the dimensions of the trim kit.  Good price, but proper installation leaves little tolerance for space dimensions.

I did not take the time to look at the user manual, but perhaps it can be used without the included trim kit.
