I'm hoping your Forerunner is fine (even better than fine) as it's one of the tow vehicles I'm consider for a new 178. Smile

We went with this trailer instead: www.spacetrailers.com
Wife loves tent camping and this is much lighter.

I tried towing a r178 wi h a 2005 dodge gran caravan, 3.3 v6 with a 100K on it.  Seems like i was really working the engine way to hard, took 5,000 rpm's just to go up a hill or bridge.  I installed a tranny cooler prior to my first trip.  I had all the right towing equipment for installed by the dealer.  You can only do so much with 180 hp!   Now I tow with h a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3.6 v6, 280 hp.  I installed avel citric brake controller to aid in braking.  Next week will be my first trip with the Jeep towing the R178. The Jeep has a 8 speed tranny.  Hope this works!

Hi Ron/Roscoe - we had a similar experience with our Toyota Sienna V6.  It could technically tow the rpod, but it felt like it was working too hard.  We stayed with a 7-seater, but pretty much the same vehicle as you and went with the Durango.  We can tow the rpod now and barely feel it.  Can't wait to hit the mountains next month and see how it performs.  The kids named the Durango 'Bruce' (like the shark in Finding Nemo). LOL

Ron/Roscoe welcome to the group. We used to tow our 171 with a Grand Caravan with the 3.3 180hp
went up and down the East Coast a few times. Wasn't really impressed either. We then got a 2013 Grand Caravan with the 3.6 pentastar with the 280 hp. tows really nice and gives me pretty good mileage.

I forgot to mention that my gas mileage went down to 10 mpg towing the Rpod using the 3.3 V6 in the caravan.

Thanks Jato - we're in Saskatchewan.  It's been really dry here so we were snow-free much sooner this year than normal.  We just had our first rain this past week and our fire ban was finally lifted.  Hoping to get enough done around the yard this weekend so we can get away for a little camping next weekend or the weekend after.

We average 13.5 while driving in Vermont, 14.5-16.5 once we hit the Massachusetts border and south. with our 2013 Grand Caravan. Our 2005 was always 10-11 mpg

Marco, glad to hear you are snow free.  We had a few snow pellets hit our windows this morning, might get something more 'serious' tonight.   This is the time for us to pick morels, but has been on the chilly side so picking has been sporadic around here.
