I have been asked about Non-Ethanol gas many times and found out that it does have more power per gallon than the corn fuel we are forced to buy.

Therefore, when you tow with a vehicle at or near capacity, Non-Ethanol will pull you around easier and even get better mileage.

Here is a website that will help you locate REAL GAS:

www.pure-gas.org

If you use a smart phone, it will give you directions, coordinates, addresses, etc....

Happy Towing

Ethanol sucks!!!!  My Ford will get 22-23 MPG with real gas....down to 16-17 with ethanol (not towing).

Bad part is, living in farm country it is hard to find.  Much more common and available in the "Up North" as we say in WI or the Northwoods.

Fleet Farm gas stations normally have ethanol free gas.  Check it out if you have one near,

Farm and Fleet by me.  Those two always crack me up.  Greatest store on the planet though...I can spend hours in one.  When the Zombie Apocolypse comes, I want to be near a FF, everything you need for survival. 😄

We are positioned so we can easily get to both, but we are in Fleet Farm country.  I like em both too.  Does Farm and Fleet have gas stations?

I guess that is another advantage to living near the water-  outboard motors do not do well at all on ethanol-laced gas.

Even the convenience store here on the Key has a non-ethanol pump.  Costs more, but at least it's available.

You noticed it big time...marine!  Sta-Bil does also make a marine formula which is meant for reducing or eliminating ethanol in gas.

It's a blue color not like the brown/yellow color.

I carry some of that when towing in case I can't find real gas.

About a quarter of the gas stations here in Central Mn carry hi-octane (90) ethanol-free gasoline.
It is used for "non-automobile" uses such as high-compression autos,  ATVs, outboards, lawn equipment, etc. It generally costs about 10% more than 10-15% ethanol gas.  So do an experiment...let your tow vehicle get low on fuel and fill up totally with the non-ethanol gas and record your odometer setting.  Record the mileage when you are again nearly empty and refill with standard ethanol gas.  Repeat and check your mpg...if you get a higher mpg percentage using non-ethanol than the higher percentage gas price, it is more economical to fill with the non-ethanol gas.

Our gas stations will have the high octane non-ethanol for "recreation vehicles" as the signs usually state.

Keith...Farm & Fleet doesn't have gas pumps by me.
