Hi chiman, We found installing the rod in the visor first made the process MUCH easier. I pushed the keder past most of the screws easily, if there was the slightest resistance, I could gently pull the leading edge of the visor away from the pod by the installed rod, reducing the pressure the keder exerted on the screw heads, and it slipped right by. I still have the original screws in my channel. Matter of fact I didn't even remove the sharp edge from the channel's end or spray silicone in it. No stool, no ladder, no sweat

Hi Bob,
Question for you: Due to weather I have not had a chance yet to try the visor as stated in my posts. Have smoothed out the ends of the awning channels but wanted to know from your post on putting he visor up by running the pole in first on the visor then putting the visor through the channel. Question: Did you have any trouble in doing so with the round headed screws in the channel hitting the bead on the visor or causing any problems at all? There are quite a few of the round headed screws in my channel that seem like they may cause a rubbing problem but thought I would ask if you had any problems prior to my attempting to replace all my screws with flat head screws. Any help on the subject would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rphelps |

It arrived today as promised. Right now it is just way to cold to try it out but will as soon as the cold snap passes.

Glad to see someone take advantage of our "trials". I hope you are as satisfied as we are. Although we haven't taken the "pod" out since we got the latest visor, I have full confidence in it, based on the performance I observed with the smaller units. The much smaller, 150" unit, "almost" worked, it actually only failed when it got wet. (or resisting a strong breeze) As it dried out in the sun (or when the breeze stopped), it would suddenly "pop" up in to the correct position. |

Thanks for all your work on the visor. I have had a new 2014 178 for a couple of months and have watched this tread for a while. I had an older r pod and ordered an awning from Bear Creek Canvas which they made and shipped to me (several years back). I had to put plastic tubing over their rope to make it fit in the awning rail. The awning was great but didn't care for having to put up the support poles and ropes to hold the support poles in place each time I used it. Gave it to the guy who bought my older rpod. So, last week I ordered a visor from Mike (I think it was Mike but could have been Jeff) and he was a pleasure to work with. I asked when they could get it done and shipped (remember this was Thanksgiving week when I ordered it). He told me he thought they could get it done and shipped to me this Monday. Much to my surprise I got an email on Monday afternoon with the UPS tracking number with an expected delivery of this Thursday. I checked today and it is on a UPS truck and will be delivered to my home tomorrow (Thursday). Very good and fast service and the measurements were based upon the success of your visor. Thank you for the update!! So good to hear they are making a visor to work with the longer models. Can you upload a pic? I am also curious to hear how it survives rain and dew -- we live in WA so always need to keep the raindrops in mind :)

That is great news to finally hear. Been waiting for your update on it! I hope you'll continue to throw some of your further dealings with your visor hear. Would love to hear how a few more trips treat you and and it! |

so we couldn't try it until today, Sunday.
It even "needs" the hold down cords so it doesn't go too high! The visor covers both the window openings, so we can leave them open in a light shower.
