Where we live, outdoor pets are food for the wildlife.  Coyotes are especially fond of cats and small dogs.  Apparently, they're delicious.  And the coyotes and snakes keep the rodent population well controlled.

We also prefer not to have our house or Pod full of pet dander and hair, thus have no pets except a big toy stuffed golden retriever.  Though I'd love to have a couple dogs [as I've had for most of my life] we travel out of the country from time to time for weeks at a time and I cannot bring myself to leave them in a kennel.  For me, unless you have working dogs on a ranch or something, dogs are part of he family [the pack] and you have to include them in pretty much everything.  Many lifestyles don't allow that to happen.

My wife has asthma. She was told once by her pulmonologist that she could have a pet or she could breathe. She chose breathing (for which I am also appreciative). We do travel with a small, stuffed polar bear. It was one we bought last year on our Alaska cruise and given to her late father who had said, "Watch out for polar bears" when we said we would be going to Alaska. After he passed away, the bear came home with us and now rides in our R-Pod.

We enjoy meeting other people's pets for some fuzz-therapy when we have the opportunity.

We take our girls camping all the time.
Izzy, a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie).  Very assertive, alpha female but loving on her terms.
Zoe Joy, a Yorkie we rescued from a puppy mill.  She's very loving and wants to be with people which is surprising given the life she started with.

Both my wife and I have lived just about all our lives with pets. We now have two rescue dogs a shih tzu 15 lbs. from my mother who no longer able to care for and a terrier mix 33 lbs. from the local animal shelter. They both love to travel and they travel with us in our camper or if we are not towing the camper. It would be too quiet without them they make great watch dogs. We use to have shelties they were the greatest pets we ever had very loyal companions but not the best to take camping, shelties love to bark.

We don't try and travel with our cat, she is a adopted feral and quite independent, she has excepted the house, but is a bit unmanageable once outside. She's a sweety and takes care of the rodents around house, and has actually has been bit by a Copperhead on one occasion. We love her but better to board and travel with our English Bulldog.

I wanted to travel more so in 2017 I purchased the pod so we could go camping with the bulldog.  She is at home anywhere as long as she is with us.  I could count the number of times she has barked in eleven years on one hand. Great camper.

Hey! There was not a "No pet" option.

We used to have a cat (~~ 18 years), but after he went away to cat-college, we opted for no pets. Where we live now would not be a good place for a pet anyway. For me, traveling with a pet would also be a challenge. Happy it works for some of you folks though. Whenever we meet folks with pets, it's clear everyone is having a good time.

We have four dachshunds; Chloe, Gretta, Penny, and Liesel. They love the pod. We wouldn't dream of going anywhere without them! (If I could post pics to this website I would.)

Beside the first set of reasons given earlier in this post the second reason why no pets is that we do a lot of hiking and biking while camping and if wouldn't be fair to any animal to leave it inside all day while we are gone all day enjoying all the beauty outside.

I applaud that, people who do not have pets because of various reasons and mainly due to not mistreating them are just as important as the folks that have them and love them. Mistreating an animal to me is no different than mistreating a person, child or not.
