So today I removed the highly customized stabilizer jack from the left rear corner of our 177. As noted in another post I managed to make a fully retracted jack into a work of art getting on to the Washington Island Ferry. Risers are in my future, but for now I will be getting a jack from our dealer next week and putting it on.
One questions: Are the brackets that attach the jack to the frame welded as well as screwed to the frame? I removed the two top pivot bolts for the jack (I couldn't get to the rear bolt to the frame, then tried to remove the brackets. With the screws removed they were tight. I didn't try to hammer them loose, and wonder how those of you who changed jacks did so. I wonder about timing of the jack etc. if I try to remove the pivot bolts and replace the jack that way.
Thanks for the help. I will be going to the dealer next week, and at that time ordering the risers.
