I grabbed my camera and took a drive in Matanzas State Forest.  It is only a few miles away.  Here is what I saw today.  It was about 3' long is all.  Right in the road!

Here he is heading for the woods.

I look for Eagles, rattle snakes, wild pigs, deer, armadillo and what ever else!

That sounds pretty good!  Don't forget the ribs!  Most people here in Florida don't know the ribs are good.  So are the shoulders.  The one meat market where I could get gator ribs just went out of business.   I'll be darned if I'll order them from Louisiana!  That seems to be my only option though.

Terry, I take it then that gator hunting must be illegal in Florida?  (Wow - what a contrast to the snowstorm in the NE!)

David, don't know if you saw it in the paper, but about 2 years ago a woman about 5 miles west of Corydon Ind that lived near Indian creek told her husband she saw a gator in Indian creek, he went down there and caught that gator, it was cool and it could not move very fast, it was 3 feet long, local DNR said was probably a pet someone released after tiring of it.  I fish about 1.5 miles east of where they caught the gator, I watch where I put my feet when wade fishing Indian creek now Shocked

Thanks!  I might be able to get some ribs etc.  There is a restaurant down around the glades that is kind of famous for there gator ribs.  Or at least there used to be.  These days you don't know from one day till the next who will still be open.  Like I said I can get ribs from LA but that just ain't right!  That is like living in TX and ordering steak from some other state!
