Is everyone aware that the USGS will issue a non expiring pass for U.S. residents (and other what nots) for people 62 or older, a camper told me about it, go to USGS senior pass, fill out the form, 10 bucks in person, or 20 bucks mail in, does not expire and can save 1/2 on camping fees and sometimes gate fees are waived, what a deal. about 40 minutes from our house is Hoosier National Forest, after 10/25 the electric sites are $8.00,with pass $4.00, no water and only pit toilets, so what. This is about the only good thing I have found so far about turning 62, as John Wayne said "The rest of it ain't so good" These pass'es are good at most Nat Park Service, www.nps.gov U.S. Forest Service www.fs.fed.us Fish and Wildlife Service www.fw.gov Bureau of Land Mgt www.blm.gov and Bureau of Reclamation www.usbr.gov , Man what a deal, and if you and spouse both get one I am told you can get ajoining sites. I got mine in the mail today, Come on Spring. !!!!!!!

I have one. Mine was issued through the USFS. It's called the Americal the Beautiful "All Access Pass". Mine was issued due to my medical/handicapped status. $10 one time fee - - we've used it A LOT !

Though it will be many, many years until I am old enough to qualify Embarrassed
Thanks for the info....I'll keep it in mind.

On a related note (sort of) many of the Indiana facilities offer reduced camping rates in the off season.

Great benefit, I've been using one for two years. Good for life (UNLESS YOU LOSE IT_THEN YOU BUY ANOTHER).
