Marwayne,
I think your mods are great. Can you tell me what stain color you used to match the Pod's color.

Hi there, Great Mods on your 172! I would like to add the porthole windows to the bunks as well. A little worried about running into the aluminum wall framing. How did you know where to put the windows without hitting anything? Drawings?

Just curious. How much have you increased the weight of the Pod? Safe Travels.

Hello I'm very impressed with your modifications. I have a 17'6 and feel the need to make changes, your photos will help. Where did you obtain the porthole windows and were they difficult to install?? Thanks Konabob

Marwayne, maybe you should "copyright" your work - if there's such a thing in carpentry. Your ideas are so good, I believe manufacturers should do some of the same things you did to maximize space. But I don't think they should be able to "steal" your ideas! And thanks to you and Tech for each explaining how you used -- or did not use -- mollybolts. I appreciate EVERYTHING I learn on the forum. All of your MOD's are first class. Where did you find the port hole windows that you put in? I have wanted to put one in the door like you did but Mama has always been against it until she saw yours. Goose

No Doug those are not drains, they are vents, there are 4 of them. I have propane and gas in there, it is for air flow.

Hodge-PODge I have not yet used an anchor or mollybolt in my pod. The inside walls have a 1/8" plywood skin. So drill your holes in the wood bracket countersink them, hold the bracket in place mark the holes, then use a 1/16" bit drill through the skin, use drywall screws coarse thread ( grabers) and screw on the bracket . Dont use a drill or screwgun, you dont want to overturn the screw,if you overturn it it wont hold and you would have to use an anchore or a mollybolt.
