Here's one for the ages: On our Memorial Day excursion, we would lock the door handle lock when we left for the day or a walk or the like, and then put the key on the counter inside when we opened up. We would then pick up the key on its ring when we left again - almost always. Just before we started up the truck to leave the dump station on our way out, one of us went out and closed the door and left the key ring inside. I went to get something last minute from the Pod and the door handle was locked! Apparently by itself, the lock slipped to horizontal position and locked the handle. Looking in the window, there was the key ring sitting in plain view on the counter across the trailer from me.

My daughter said, "No problem," opened the window all the way and slid the screen out of the way. "Now, how do we retrieve it?" Fortunately, we had a US flag on a pole and mounting that was in the back of the TV. On the end of the pole is a little plastic eagle with a small sharp beak that is facing off to one side. I was able to snag the key ring and carefully extract it through the window.
Lessons learned - we will get several other copies of the key made and have one on the truck ring, one in the truck on its own and another somewhere else. Also, the screen is movable - so security is not assured if you leave the window open and the door locked - although it would be a difficult entry though the small windows.
