Labor Day weekend I will be riding my motorized bicycle from Saint Augustine to Daytona Beach and back.  A bunch of us from all over Florida are doing it.  Maybe next year!Smile

Yep, since I live about an hour north of Atlanta, that is a little far for me for just a weekend.  But it sounds as if there will be plenty of Podders there to get together.  Y'all have fun!

It is about 4 hours and 20 minutes for me. I thought I would leave after work Friday and get in late. I also have Labor Day Monday off.
Wish you could come!

Well, I know it's been years and years since I've been to King's Mountain, but I admit I was terribly confused Confused by the remark that it was between Charleston and Columbia.  I remembered it being closer to Charlotte.  No wonder I was confused . . . we were talking apples and oranges!   I'm getting out my map right now . . .

Hodge-I think the Charleston/Columbia reference was to Santee State Park, which would be about 5+ hours for you.  Kings Mountain, which is right at the NC/SC state line on I-85 would be around 4 hours.  Not too bad if you could make a 4 day weekend out of it?

Cowgirl-If you are arriving late, be sure to call ahead and get the code for the gate.  They close it at 10pm and you will need the code to get in.  If you run into problems, maybe I can provide my cell number just in case and I can come up and let you in.

So, I am losing track---how many are set for the Southern Roundup? Sounds like it is in the vicinity of Davidson College (just north of Charlotte N.C.)--both our children graduated from there.

It would be 9 hours or so for us but we would love to come back up to the area if we could make it a two day trip up and back. Could someone recommend a camp along I-95 somewhere near Savannah, GA?--that would be about half way, I think.

We would really like to meet some of you all.

marshwatcher - so far I think it's just me and tdrace.  Still plenty of time to get some more.

The CG is maybe an hour before you get to Davidson.  Just over the state line, exit 8 in NC.

I will have to defer to someone more familiar with the Savannah area for a layover spot.

Hope you can make it!

A roundup in Florida for this fall or winter sounds great for us. We have some vacation time left but not enough to travel out of the state.     David and Danette
