I would probably put the canvas side up and the plastic side down, as to protect the plastic/waterproof side from the sun, leaves, and sticks. Most tents have the waterproofing silicon material on the inside so it lasts longer. This is just my guess having not actually seen the awning.
good luck.

I can't even begin to describe it.... you would just have to see for yourself....

I'd like to hear more about your canopy from Bear Creek. And really look forward to seeing pictures.

Got my awning from Bear Creek today. One side is a heavy Plastic backing to the canvas. Is this correct. Do I take it you put the canvas side up?? Too dang hot outside to even think of trying it out. Setting a heat record today. Anyway, I thought most awnings , like on my motorcoach was canvas through and through, so I am not sure what I am looking at. The tent awnings are usual ripstock. Since I ordered the Moonlight, I guess the plastic? coated side goes Up. Underside is a nice brown. Those of you that have ordered from Bear Creek, give me some insight. Got some extra pieces to experiment with putting acrylic graphics on. If I had a heavy duty sewing machine I have enough pieces to make a bag. Unless some of these pieces are attached to the awning.

Good idea. Had not heard that one yet.

Mountain Mist,
There is a thread on this forum called Dome Installation Question. A post by Pawpod on 8 May shows two videos for setting up the dome. (I couldn't get the link to copy directly.) The thread has lots of comments and good information in it that might be useful for you.

While not in the outback, there are times when something a little different is not to be found. I refuse to drive 40 miles to nearest large city where I am sure it could be found. Even the local hardware store was fresh out AND did not even know it! Only thing I could figure was it was uncommon, so they did not keep many OR this being the constant construction of malls, homes, rentals keeps everything in short supply. So, I did the next best thing, used my fingers on Goggle , found a description on what they looked like, and a site to order. And I am getting a small set. So will include the #2 and #3 , which I read is the most common ones used? Interesting story about the Robertson too. Thanks for the heads up.

mountain mist, its very odd hearing that you can't find a Robertson screw driver at your local hardware store. Its like hearing that you've never seen a Coca Cola.
You do know that there are several sizes of Robertsons? The #2 (red handle) is most common, closely followed by a #1 (green handle).

Oops. You have the Dome, but the video still might be informative.
