Well, I went to all the trouble to hang it over the outside of the bathroom door so I could use it for a hanging pantry for lightweight kitchen items.  Well, no matter how lightweight my items, the shelves in that thing are just fabric covered cardboard and they buckled and folded.  So right now, mine is spread horizontally across the bed, filled with items such as paper plates, paper cups, paper towels, buns, and potato chips.  It's not much use as a "hanging" organizer, I will tell you that! I agree that the storage bag thingy is a waste of design effort.  We tried numerous ideas but it is now in the attic.

Your 177 has an attic. How nice! How much extra was that option? (Must be an option. Ours didn't come with one.)LOL
Seriously,  I wondered if that organizer had any useful function. Does anyone  use the closet rod at all?

Having a 176 and there being just 2 of us we use it for storing all those little things that seem to disappear.  Also, for an extra roll of paper towels & toilet paper.  We have it laid sideways on the top bunk.  For those of you who don't have that kind of storage maybe it could be made into some kind of game using bean bags.

LOLNot having an attic either (okay enough!!), our organizer is in a closet...at home. Don't use the closet rod either.

On our first camping trip with the Pod, we used it outside to hold shoes. Just hung it up in a tree that happened to have a conveniently located branch. Beyond that use....that thing is dare I say, useless. Wonder if Forest River really thought it would work? Back to the drawing boards, boys!

I wonder if you could replace the cardboard with fiberboard (thin plywood)?
