Bill-Ga   For me it was needed and remembered someone else. I did a search and found his post on the Rpodnation forum. It was posted aug. 19, 2010 by CCDAMEEK. He had 3/8" play and if I remember that is about what I had. If all the riser brackets are identical then I am guessing everyone has that much play and should have to measure when installing them. Maybe the 3/8" play isn"t enough of a concern I was just playing it safe and measured. I am curious now if others measured their axles when they installed their risers.    David

David,  you've got my interest up and I'm wondering to what point on each side of the axle you measured to. Axle? Axle bracket? Point on Wheel? I have a few days off next week and will try to measure mine.  Thanks

Hmmm, I don't remember any play.  With 2 different axles on the pods it is almost certain there are 2 different risers.  Maybe one has room for adjustment and one doesn't.

I am sorry I don't have the greatest memory, but I believe it may have been with wheels removed I measured to one of the studs on the hub, turning the hub to get the shortest distance from hitch coupling. I used a metal tape measuring to the same point at the coupling. There was definetly play in the axle. Did you find the post on the rpodnation site. I remember reading on someones post there describing how they measured the alignment of the axle when installing the risers. Perhaps they have mailed different brackets out with different size holes. If your axle has no movement with the risers lose, not tightened then all brackets are not manufactured  identical.    David

I did one side at a time and have not noticed any tracking problems.

Installed the axle risers last weekend, there is some small room for movement around the installation holes but as long as the POD is sitting level and you keep the risers evenly pushed back against the frame flange as you bolt in the bottom bolts first there should not be a problem with axle alignment.

Sorry about the post right before this (which is now hidden).  I hate spam on the internet and would rather have it in a frying pan!

What a super idea!

Add to this maybe:  CLEANING UNDER THE ROOF A/C.

I found that a long, sturdy paint stick with a wet towel or rag soaked with a mild cleanser did the job.  The rest of the exterior cleaning is easy.
