Borrowed on a mod someone else had done before with an $8.00 TV tray purchased at Walmart to cover the burners. This tray is perfect because it is cheap, the correct size  and a pretty close match to the cabinets color also. After removing the legs I used the horizontal cross brace to make the legs for the cover. I positioned the legs on the rounded 4 corners of the stove-top, so the cover would not slide around, then applied wood glue on top of each leg.

After carefully positioning the top to make sure the corners were even, I weighted the top down for 24 hours. Very pleased with the results, but now thinking about using a cutting board instead.

Thanks everyone, again, I cannot take credit for the idea, just my twist to it. Wink

I bought a stove top cover from Camping World that has four slotted rubber feet.  For the first installment, you fit the individual slotted rubber feet onto the burner posts.  The rubber feet have adhesive strips on top. Pressing the cover onto the feet causes the feet to stick to the bottom of the cover at the correct positions. You then lift the cover up and permanently attach screws from the feet into the cover.  The rubber feet do not shift because they securely grip the burners and make no noise.
