	We spent the weekend at Weston Bend State Park, north of Kansas City, at the Audubon Society's "Wings over Weston" festival. Marvelous park, good hiking and biking, and during the migratory times of spring and fall, there is an amazing variety of birds not usually seen in this area. Every time I visit this park I am more impressed. It is not a park to just drive through, one would see nothing of interest, but when one gets out and walks the trails and watches the forest canopy, it is simply amazing. There is also a paved trail that we took to walk to the main street of Weston, MO (a pre-Civil War town, and a campsite of the Corps of Discovery in July, 1804), about 1.5 miles, pretty flat and nice, as opposed to the biking trail which has some very steep hills (a strenuous, but healthy walk). I am really looking forward to the Labor Day get together, every site in the campground is wooded and beautiful, some are quite secluded.
