Topic: Interior dimensions of a 179 Posted: 15 Nov 2023 at 10:16am |
Hello everyone,
I'm not yet an R-Pod owner, but my wife and I have been looking for awhile to try to find the right fit for us. It would be the two of us, and two medium sized dogs - one of which requires being in a kennel while we are away. We would be towing it with a 4runner, so can't go too big. We think we have it pretty narrowed down to what model we want based on the features we wanted and the weight, but there is a little more information we were trying to find before we drive across the country to look at one. Would anyone with a 179 be able to measure the interior in a few key spots? We want to make sure we have a comfortable spot to put a large kennel when needed. Below is a diagram of the spots we were thinking one may fit. |

We don't have ours anymore. However, here is a consideration: You would need to know if that kennel would fit with the slide retracted. Sure there might be room with it extended, but you lose the space in the dinette area and much of the space between the refrigerator and the corner between the sink and stove when the slide is retracted. You will need to take that into account with any measurements.

It would only be used when we are stopped and setup at our camping destination, and only to be used when we needed to leave the dogs at "home." So, it would only be used with the camper fully extended. The kennel we have is a collapsible one, so it would be folded up when not in use or traveling.
