We weren't told about this complicated system. Seems we aren't the only ones who have been confused because I'm seeing people commenting as problem. We flooded our fresh water tank and suspect this was the reason. Dealer is still evaluating ours unit. Have any of you had this problem? Help! We want to bypass it and not have to deal with it.

What do you mean that you "flooded your fresh water tank"? Does that mean that you were hooked up to city water supply only and had no water in you fresh water tank when you connected to the city water supply? If that is the case your watermizer shower head is not the culprit but a leaky check valve just down stream of the fresh water pump can leak causing the fresh water tank to fill up while using the city water connection in the trailer. Hope this helps.

The shower miser will definitely direct water into the fresh water tank. That's what it is designed to do. Just turn your water pump on and use the water in the tank. Or turn the shower miser off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olUh0_R9uMg

I like the idea of the Shower Mizer. Has anyone retrofitted one in an RPod 179? How hard was it?

We found out about the showermizer after the flood. Noone told us about this device. Should have been explained to us during the walk through when we bought it. We aren't new to rving. had everything from popups to diesel pusher and tagalong to 5th wheel. This was something new we hadn't heard of so would have been nice to have it pointed out and explained. We still don't know for sure. The dealer can't get it to replicate. They did open the cover of the bottom of r v and let it dry out a couple of days. Now they're saying they think it might be something strange that may or may not happen again.
We will have to keep close eye to keep from flooding again and may be catch if happens again. Needless to say, we are pretty frustrated.
We've taken 4 trips in this new unit. 3 trips had to be cut short because of problems with unit. The 1st 2 were because when dealer installed solar panels they didn't install the control box. When we went on 1st trip. It was over charging the battery and popping breakers inside. When we took to dealer they found nothing. We took 2nd trip and it happened again. We paid for a mobile unit to come out and look at rv/ He tested battery and found very high voltage. Took back to dealer when we got back. They finally checked this out and sure enough needed a control box. Now this. |

It's a really nice feature for boondocking. You don't waste water getting hot water to the shower. I wish there was one on the kitchen faucet.

That does sound like a good innovation. Even if you rarely boondock it seems worthwhile. I dont understand the flooding issue, it doesn't seem possible for it to be in bypass mode long enough to fill the fwt. Was the shower left on by accident perhaps?

+1 with offgrid after reviewing the watermizer installation guide on you tube looks like a good idea but what came to my mind is that gives you another fresh water line to winterize in the fall. If forgotten it sure could be a mess. Just a thought.
