We've thought about it.  One of our four would probably be ok on a leash and loves being a lap cat.  My worries are about accidents and clawing, but a cage when we're gone and cutting her claws would probably solve both issues.  Our dog loves to go with us now, until we leave to go somewhere.  You would think we were strangling him!

Oh, and I've found I can't post from my phone, it has a version of Opera on it (about 3 years old).  Everything works fine except the message box.

Right now we only travel with the dog.  Since we have four cats, it would be difficult to take them all and as they are all older, I don't think they would enjoy it.   The next kitten that I get will be treated more like a dog as it is growing up and taken places so that it will be used to travel and then I hope to be able to take it camping.  That will make it easier for us to leave home and not worry about having to get someone over to take care of things at home.

My boss has 4 kids and a husband that she camps with in an outback (no slideout) and they take their diabetic cat with them.   He seems to like camping and certainly likes it more than he likes boarding.  They use a harness to walk him.

We have a cat but don't think we'll take her camping.  She goes outdoors at home and I can just see her running off into the great wilderness never to be seen again!  The dogs we will try.

Not anymore.  When we lived in our motorhome traveling around for 6 years we had a cat with us.  We would put the cat carrier of a seat, with seat belt holding it, open the door and she would jump in.  Then she would sleep until we stopped  for lunch.  She liked the big front window to watch the campground!

If you go all the way to the bottom (beginning) in January they took off from Wisconsin to Florida for a couple of months camping with a cat in their rpod.

I must be missing it, I see the 'pod on the right side but there is no link there.  I went to the bottom too and don't see it...
