I have used straight silicone spray or any penetrant (Schaeffer's makes a great product) with excellent results.

I use LPS1 for that type of application. It's a light, grease less lubricant what won't attract duest and contaminates and is also a water displacement agent. It's commonly used in the aviation industry to lube exposed hinges and similar moving parts. I figure if it's good enough for my aileron hinges it's good enough for trailer doors...
