Yes, they are simply a block of wood through which I drilled an appropriate size hole and then attached to the wall with screws.

Thanks for the visual. Assuming you custom made those? I’ve got to take measurements and get a feel for it this weekend when I’m camping for the first time in it.

Okay, pictures are in order so here is one. I would have done the other side, but got an error message about exceeding my picture allotment. Since I don't want my old posts to have broken picture links, I am just uploading this one. There is an equivalent on the other side, notched to allow it to sit flat on the wardrobe cabinet and not interfere with the radio/DVD player.

Okay good to know. I may take a similar approach.

Since mine is not under that much pressure because I put blocks of wood to hold the two ends, I leave mine up all the time.

Thank you for the tips. Didn’t consider taking down the tension rod while traveling but that is definitely something I’ll look to avoid.

We have had good luck with Command hooks as well for lighter things. We do have a few items mounted using screws. We use the 1" particle board screws from Lowes with a dab of wood glue on the threads. Don't pre-drill and hand screw them only and you should be good to go.

Ditto on the spring loaded shower curtain rods for drying towels and clothes. Not sure it matters, but we take them down while traveling. Hate to stop and see big, gaping holes in the wall from the rods.

That’s a great idea. Thank you! I also have a big pick up the command hooks too. I came across some adhesive metal strips that I could attach magnets to things and then to that.
