Hi Everyone, I'm new to the R-Pod community. Just bought my 2019 R-189 and will be picking her up within the next couple weeks. I've been an RV'r for over 40 years with my husband. I'm now on my own and learning about the things that weren't my "duties" before. He made it look so easy. I have lots to learn!

Welcome. We're here to help so ask any questions you might have and we'll try to come up with an answer. And even if we don't know we'll still give you an answer, or two, or three.

Congratulations and welcome to your on-line 24/7 Owners Manual!  I have benefited greatly over the years on this forum as there are many 'well versed' and 'expert' podders here.  Stay tuned and ask away.

Fill us in on what flavor tow vehicle you have.  Seeing that you are from Washington you probably are experiencing a sun that has gone in "hibernation" mode for the winter.  At least that is what we currently have here in northern Michigan.  Enjoy that 189 and make a lot of great memories as well.

I'm currently shopping for a truck to tow my "girl pod". I have a F350 that we used to tow our Solitude. That's way overkill for the pod. Our kids are buying that. I'll probably end up with a F-150, like you have. I'm excited to get the deal making done and move on with the having more fun.

An F150 is a good size for an R-189. You might be able to go a little smaller like a Tacoma or one of the other mid-sized trucks. A lot of choices, but it largely depends on what you other needs are.

Welcome and good for you for jumping in! Your thought on a half ton pickup with tow package will work. Our Tacoma did fine towing a 179 except in very strong headwinds. The Tundra doesn't know the 195 is back there, until we near a gas station of course :-)  Have fun!

Welcome to the forum!  This is a fantastic resource for virtually any questions you might have.

If you're looking for a truck, make sure you look at the fuel economy regardless of the size.  With the fuel management systems on the newer trucks, you'd be amazed at the fuel economy on the F150 as compared to a Tacoma or a Ranger.

Either way, you'll be well equipped to tow an Rpod.

Enjoy!

I'm very lucky to have a master certified Ford tech as a son-in-law. He's got me covered. Going to test drive a couple tomorrow. I agree about the fuel economy. Looking at V6 with eco boost.

LOL...Sounds like me back about a year ago... for me, my Ford master tech is my nephew :-).  Everyone needs their "person" in these situations.
He recommended that I go with the 5.0l, so I did.
Hey, if you're going to trust your guy, you gotta go with what they recommend:-)
Good luck!
