I went to Home Depot to pick up 20 landscape timbers in my Liberty today.  They weigh 31 pounds each,  so that came to 620 pounds.  The employee said "this will never work, it's too much weight for a SUV".  I told him to just load it up.  The back end did sag 1.75" but everything looked good underneath so I took off.  I didn't notice an difference in the ride or handling.

Terry About 6 months ago we traded our 2004 Liberty for a 2010 Liberty I hope it is as tough as the old Liberty. For 14 years I had a 1988 Mitsubishi 2 door 4 cyl. Montero. Used it hauling logs out of the woods and many other things. I will never own another vehicle other than a SUV they are so useful. Your picture makes me miss my old Liberty even more. But thanks anyway for the picture.      David

Its a shame that the Liberty will be discontinued after the 2012 model.  They are replacing it with something based on a Fiat platform.  I have 95K miles on her now with a LOT of off road miles included.  I only have about 100k more to go!

Terry,
i have a 2002 liberty 4x4 107000 on it  and except for the power window regulators it is a great vehicle. gas mileage does rank low but being out west i am constantly towing uphill to go anywhere and it pulls the pod with no problems.

I can relate to the window regulators.  I have replaced 3 so far.  I know one guy that has gone through 7 so far!  If you ever want to know anything about a Liberty go to: http://www.lostjeeps.com
