I have a RP176, where the dinette is in the back.  I have removed the table that has come with the rpod to make more comfortable seating space from my wife and I.  We did like the table down so we could lay back there and watch TV.  Has anyone made a mod that would support a piece of plywood to the replace the dinette table, with a sheet of plywood, so I could still have the double bed for sleeping in the dinette space?

That is cool,  but the dinette on a 176 is in the back of trailer and that is where the trailer curves.  But it might still work.

I'm not sure it counts as a "mod" but I have some flat boards that live under the seat cushions. They can be pulled across the space and the cushions arranged to make a bed. No one knows they are there because I really don't want guests. lol.

The platform is the height of the dining table when it is folded down.  Isn't your table the same as a 180's?  Mine is a little smaller than the table, but the size is easy to adjust.  The base is made from 1 x 2s, glued, clamped and air nailed.  Sheetrock screws would work.  Three sides have a diagonal brace.  The front does not to provide access to the space under.  The top is 5/16" birch plywood.  I was surprised how light AND stiff it was.  Must be the wood glue.

It is now painted black so it "disappears".

What have you done to hold up and support the plywood?

Might be like a 180, but I don't know.  My problem is I'm a tall guy so I can't sit up in the back without hitting my head on the curved part of the back of the RPOD.  Therefore I need to sit sideways, not from back to front.

Nailed and glued it to the frame.  The unsupported span is only 26".
