My 2017 heater is setting off the co alarm. There was a bees nest in the intake tube that I removed but I am wondering if bees may have gotten into the burner. The flame is kind of orangey. It fires and fan runs but shuts down after a couple minutes.   Is there any easy way to open it up to clean the burner assembly?

Since the burner and its ventilation system is not supposed to be connected to the internal air recirculation system the CO monitor should not be going off no matter what the flame looks like. If you're sure that the furnace is the cause of the CO alarm I suggest that you pull the furnace out and carefully inspect everything. Safety first. You pretty much have to remove the furnace to work on it (but its not that hard a job).

Here's the furnace manual

If the heater is setting off the CO alarm, it would indicate that combustion gases are somehow entering the living space, which should be separate from the combustion space. It would tell me there is a seal or a hole or something between the two spaces.
