I finished installing my battery shutoff.  I added a 60 amp circut breaker.  I have a fan in the refridge vents that runs all the time so the battery switch allows me to shut off everything.
I also installed the Hayes Master Sway control.  This unit will detect sway and apply brakes to stop it.  Hope it works.

Looks good. Thumbs Up
What is the box that is adjacent to the battery and behind the Hayes Sway-Master?

That was mounted originally where the Hayes unit is now.  It is a terminal board....I assumed it was part of original equipment?

I don't have anything like that on mine. That is why I asked.

Not sure if the original owner added it.  When I opened it up there was a terminal strip in it.  I think he was using a Tekonsha Prodigy RF Electronic Brake Control so it may have had to do with that.  He gave the Prodigy to me with the sale and I think I am going to sell it as I already have a brake controller.

That might be. I have not seen a similar box on any of the RPods I have seen.

My original pigtail fell out of the socket and drug for several miles.  My replacement
came with the nice terminal box, same as that you see in the picture.  The new pigtail was also about 6 ft long, so plenty of room without disconnecting.

That makes sense as when I opened it up to look at it, it is basically a junction box.

The circuit breaker install looks good.

Just be sure that you have the right size for the wires. CB's and fuses are there to protect the wires from overheating in the event of a short circuit downstream from the current source (the battery). If you drop to a smaller wire size after the first cb or fuse then you either need to size that cb/fuse for the smallest wire or add another cb/fuse the point where the wire size drops.

For 60C rated wire insulation the max cb/fuse sizes should be:

14awg - 15A
12awg - 20A
10awg - 30A
8awg - 40A
6awg - 55A
4awg - 70A

So for 75C rated wire insulation the max cb/fuse sizes should be:

14awg - 20A
12awg - 25A
10awg - 35A
8awg - 50A
6awg - 65A
4awg - 85A

The insulation temp rating should be stamped on the wire. These are max sizes, you can always go smaller but not less than 125% of the max expected current to avoid nuisance tripping.

There are fuses downstream of the shut off switch that are under the front of the trailer.  I am using 8 gauge to switch.  Circuit breaker is 60 amp so that is a bit high....I could go to 6 guage if needed
