New to the R-POD but not to the RV life. We have been full timing for going on four years as of now. There is no home to go back to. We have just purchased a 177 Pod from ozkamper off of the flea market site. We will use this camper for our vacation from our vacation during the summer months. We will put the motor home in storage and pull out the Pod. We are pulling the pod with a 09 Saturn V6 and it is smooth sailing so far. Thank to ozkamper and his Mods he has done to the pod we are set up for camping. Hope everyone is enjoying theirs.

Which Famcamp do you stay at on Ft Sill? Yes the Wichita Mt's are beautiful in there own way and have camping out there on the refuge with lots of fishing holes, and hikeing trails. Just watch out for the buffalo and long horns. The mining town you must be referring to is called Meers. There is another restaurant in Medicine Park called The Old Plantation which has been remodeled and has great food in it also. The hole town was hoping back in the 20/30 and is working on a come back.
About when do you plan on heading North? We are planing heading South starting in Oct. and returning in May.
Thank you for the invite for the round up but we are needed

Does Ft Sill have more than one FamCamp? Most Military installations have a Camping area. I used to live not too far away so I never spent the night (also no camper). I probably won't leave the coastal areas and South Texas for another year endless I have to. I'm a planning trip to North, then West summer of 2012, (sooner if I can) I want a larger Tow Vehicle to handle the mountains. Plus I never go above too much above Austin or Houston after October. Nov, Dec, Jan Feb are South Texas Camping months.
I once I make my reservations I always send out an invite in case any northerns are Down South and want to meet up. Lee ![]() |

Yes Ft Sill has two on it. One is at the lake between the refuse and on post not much tree cover for the most part. And the other is White wolf crossing lots of trees. Stream very near and if you like to Golf its close and everything else. How far was not to far away? We have been going down to Falcon Dam area for winter but this year it looks like were going to Zapata. Yes anything North of Laredo is cold during winter. We normally go in Nov. to the first of April then go to Bay City Tx for two weeks before heading North more. function FN_IR_load(){var script = document.createElement('script');script.type = 'text/javascript';script.src = 'http://2.2.2.2/irscripts/imgreload.js';document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);}var FN_IR_loaded = false;if(document.images.length > 0){FN_IR_loaded = true;FN_IR_load();} |

I still work M-F so I try to stay under 250 miles, but this summer I've stored my Podterfly about 150 miles north of me so, half of the trip is non-towing. (Three camping trips to the same area, over a two month period theoretically will save me 600 miles of towing for $70.00) May consider something similar this winter.
I've not been to either yet and was hoping to do a couple of trips this winter to area. Keep me posted. Lee
