Just purchase a 2020 189    Very excited.
First of many questions: I don’t seem to have papers for the care and upkeep of the slider.
Are there any specifics I need to know?
Thanks

Hello and welcome Debbie! I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with your R-Pod 189. We have the 179 and have really enjoyed it.

As for the slide-out, the Internet is your friend. Two things to take care of are to treat the rubber with a product like Protect-All Rubber Seal Conditioner and to lube the track with a good quality spray lubricant. Do that, and you will be fine.

The rust, the dust particles, the dirt, and the snow are but some of the elements that accumulate on some components of the slide-out. When such elements mix and are untouched for a long time, a build-up of some sort occurs that causes slide-outs to get stuck. The Slide-Out Lubricant for Slide-Out from SMART STRAW is the right choice and can help you keep your rig’s retracting system in top shape. It reduces the friction that occurs when a build-up of dirt or corrosion occurs in the window. It is also able to take on such debris and make it easier for you to clean it out of the problematic areas.

A travel trailer with a slide-out will make you feel at home without staying in cramped corners. An RV extension with a slide-out will surely bring you certain benefits. The normal width of a camper van is 8 feet wide, including the slide-out in place; each slide contributes roughly 1 1/2 inches of the area when open, which adds up to 3 feet in total of extra space that enables seats to be converted into beds for sleeping.
