I have seen some examples of the ottomans being removed in the 179 R-pod. I just want to know if they supply any support to the slideout when the slide is in and in transport? I don't want to cause any damage, or in any way compromise the integrity of the slideout.
Thanks for any input or experience with the modification.

No, the ottomans do not support the slide out. They are underneath it. You can safely remove the one near the bed. The one near the refrigerator has wiring and (if I recall correctly) gas and water lines inside it. You would need to build something to cover them.
