I have a problem with the lower "wood" panel below the refrigerator coming loose when I bring slide in inside. Is there a fix. Screws rip out of aluminum extrusion where it is screwed.

That is a common problem with the 179s. You could drill and put anchors through the extrusion to strengthen it. You could put a hinge on it. Making sure it is not rubbing against the ottoman is a good thing also as is making very sure that nothing is sitting in the way that it could hit on the trip in or out. It is probably one of the worst features about the 179 as it is inherently weak.

Agreed. The one thing I think FR got wrong on the 179 interior. I find it stays in place OK once you make sure its not rubbing on anything, including the cabling it is intended to conceal under there.

Our 179 had the same problem. The problem originates from the huge bundle of wiring behind the panel plus the panel/wires move in/out along with the slideout. One thing that helps will be to remove the panel and try to straighten/compress the wiring as much as possible. There are a lot of wires in the hassock also and they can be manipulated along with the wires behind the panel to make a smoother bundle. I also used a piano hinge instead of the 4 fixed screws to attach the panel to the cabinet base. That makes the joint more flexible instead of trying to make it immovable. Vann

Mine came loose from a roll pf paper towels behind it. there were about 8 fasteners in the panel, but only two were into the support. I corrected that and haven't had a problem since.
