By stabilizer system do you mean a weight distribution hitch (WDH) with sway control to help balance the the load on the tow vehicle while on the road? There are many WDH options and you will find proponents for various ones here. The selection depends on your tow vehicle as well as the trailer, heavier tow vehicles might not need one at all.

Every vehicle and trailer combo is different. Consult your RV dealer.

The bad thing about the sway control pictured is that you do need to remember to turn it off before backing. If you don't, you will likely wind up with bent/broken parts as others have shown. A WD hitch with integrated sway control such as the Equal-i-zer, the E2, or the Andersen do not have any such concerns. They can be backed up without any need for disconnecting the bars or loosening anything. The only disadvantage of them is if there is a slope and the leveled trailer is at a different angle than the tow vehicle. That can make it tricky to remove enough tension from the bars to get them off and then back on when it is time to move. That affects the Equal-i-zer, the E2 or other bar type WD/SC hitches, but the Andersen should not have the same issue. Also, West Tex, a lot depends on your tow vehicle. It makes a difference in the tow vehicle's setup and suspension. What is needed for a Frontier or Tacoma is not going to be needed if you have an F350 or an Expedition or a Wrangler for example. In this case, knowing what tow vehicle you have would help.

Dang, someone else in West Texas? Or is that West, Texas.
Without the comma, it's anywhere out here on the western side of Texas. But WITH the comma, it narrows it to one little town called West, but that is just north of Waco, and not West Texas, at all. But it IS West, Texas. Confused? Ok, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
