I have a 2016 178.
This weekend the Propane Regulator did something odd twice, I tried to light the stove and had no gas pressure. I removed the white plastic hexagon cap on the regulator and turned the screw just a hair and hear it pressurized, it worked for two days fine, then today I had to do it again. Is this a sign it is going bad or is it normal?

If that is the original, I had one go bad on me. I just changed though to an auto-changeover regulator and dual tanks. It isn't that hard or expensive to replace the regulator. I don't know about turning screws. You might find yourself with way too much pressure instead of too little.

Given the potential for bad things to happen if the gas lines are over pressurized and the low cost of a new pressure regulator, why take the risk?

One other thought: Turn off the gas. Disconnect the regulator output hose. I suspect you will find that there is an oily liquid accumulation that you can drain from the hose and regulator. I think it still best to change out the regulator, but draining the liquid will help also. Remember to use new Teflon tape (yellow which is made for gas, not white which is made for water) on the threads when reassembling.

Could be going bad, or gunked up, OR...have you recently changed your location going from a low elevation to a very high elevation?

Sometimes a regulator will mis-behave and a need a slight adjustment when the elevation changes a lot, especially if you just swapped in a freshly filled tank.

Some, (maybe most?), (maybe all?) regulators have an interlock such that if there is an open pipe on the outlet, they will pretty much (not completely) restrict the flow of gas.

I learned this on our BBQ grill. If I leave a burner on, and then open the valve on the propane tank, it will not light b/c the regulator is restricting the flow. I have to (1) make sure all the burners are off, and THEN (2) open the valve on the tank, and THEN (3) open a burner to light.

Thank you everyone.
I am going to pick up a new one, I just wanted to make sure it was not just a reset, it is acting like an interlock.
