Please recommend small gas grills that will connect to the r pod gas outlet and operate well. I was looking at the Char Broil Grill 2Go X200 infrared but sounds like it will not work with r pod gas outlet. Appreciate the advice.

The issue is using a grill that has had regulator removed or buying a grill without regulator. Both are available and the removal of regulator is fairly simple with right parts. The interweb has all the info you need to set up your grill for the Pod gas line. Your gas line is regulated, most grills are also. CAMCO makes THE Olympian 5500 that hooks right up to low pressure.

FWIW we bought what we thought would be the "best" grill for the pod: a $250 stainless steel with infrared set up to use the pod's propane tank.  We usually leave it in favor of the small, cheap, light char broil with the 1 lb tank. Its easy, works wherever we put it, and does the job just fine.

I agree with EchoGale-the smaller the better. Our char broil grill cost about $25, plenty big enough for 4 burgers/chicken breasts or steaks, uses a 1# tank and is good for about 3 seasons-then we replace it.  The 13 propane tank is good for at least a week or more depending on usage. for  better grilling, we use a layer of lava stones inside the grill-works great

I would recommend the Weber Q1200, you will see a lot of these in campgrounds, .  I bought some parts on Amazon to remove the regulator so I can hook it into the R Pod propane connection.
